Barbara Black

Barbara passed away at home with her loving son and family by her side.

She was born in Meriden, Connecticut, on November 22, 1945, the daughter of Howard Treloar and Edna (Hyde) Treloar.

Barbara spent time working in hotels and nursing homes, taking care of others. Barbara and her husband, Lenny were married for 58 years. She loved traveling with her husband, on their motorcycle, taking them wherever the road lead them. She was a beautiful lady who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, John Black and his wife, Stephanie of Dedham; her very special granddaughter, who was the apple of her eye, Kaitlyn and her boyfriend, Nick Berry of Dedham; and nephew, Jimmy Sherman of Wallingford, Connecticut.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lenny of 58 years; and her sister, Mabel Sherman.

The family would like to thank all the friends who came by these last few weeks, she enjoyed all the visits, and to the people that were from far away who stayed in touch. Also, to the wonderful staff of Northern Light Homecare & Hospice, for all they did for us but especially for making Barb comfortable.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later time.
