Byron "Harvey" Stradley passed away after a long fight on March 16, 2026 at a Bangor hospital with his family at his side.. He was born on December 25, 1947 in Salem, New Jersey. After school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and dedicated his life to protecting his loved ones and Defending the United States; he served three tours in Vietnam and countless Mediterranean cruises. He retired in Virginia Beach, Virginia, after serving for 22 and a half years. Harvey married his wife Vivian "Dawn" Goforth on April 10, 1965 and began their life and family together. They eventually settled in Hancock, Maine, to spend their days where Harvey served as a volunteer firefighter for the Mount Desert Fire Department, and as a proud member of the VFW Post 109.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Dawn; his daughter, Sandra; sons, David and his wife, Denise, Kevin and his wife, Theresa; along with 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren.
His daily dose of sarcasm and funny puns will be forever remembered and missed. Harvey is now in the loving arms of God and previously passed loved ones.
