Bangor, Maine - Caroline Donna (Travis) Tully, 84, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, in Bangor, Maine. Born on May 19, 1941, in Danforth, Maine, Caroline was the daughter of Archie and Ethelyn (Kinney) Travis.

She graduated from Bangor High School in the class of 1959 and earned a degree from Husson College. Her professional life began at Bryant's Jewelers in Bangor, where she developed a strong foundation in customer care and style - skills that served her well throughout a successful career in marketing and retail management. She also dabbled with modeling for local stores in these early days.

Caroline's greatest pride was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Peters and Beth's partner, Adam Lougee, of Shelburne, Vermont; her son, Aaron Belmont Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; and her grandchildren, Liam Travis Collins and Maeve Louise Collins. She encouraged creativity and curiosity in her children by enrolling them in music lessons, dance classes, and arts programs - nurturing a lifelong appreciation for the arts for the entire family.

A devoted grandmother, she cherished time spent with Liam and Maeve. Caroline celebrated their milestones with joy and took great pride in being present for their births and achievements when she could travel to Vermont. She loved sending carefully selected cards to loved ones (not needing an occasion), always accompanied with a personalized, handwritten note. You are encouraged to honor Caroline by mailing a card to someone you're thinking about, because that says more to the recipient than just the message inside. May her thoughtfulness live on in others whose lives she touched.

Caroline had a deep love for music and nature - a gifted pianist with a lovely voice who sang throughout her life and found quiet joy in gardening, bird - watching, picnics, and coastal drives along the scenic shores of Maine. Whether attending the symphony, an off-Broadway show, volunteering, or taking part in local events, she embraced every chance to connect with culture and community. Robinson Ballet held a special place in her heart, and she cherished time with friends and family at Frank's Bakery, where her bright smile and striking white hair made her a familiar, beloved presence.

Known for her poise, sense of style, quick wit, and sharp mind, Caroline was cherished wherever life took her - from Bangor to the many places she called home - her warmth making her a dear friend and neighbor to countless people. In her final year, Caroline's caregivers and medical team spoke often of how special she was and considered it a privilege to care for her. The family is forever grateful for these beautiful souls who have dedicated their profession to making life better for others.

Caroline was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Elaine (Travis) Guevin; and her husband, Jack Tully.

A memorial service to celebrate Caroline's life will be held later in 2026. The family welcomes donations in her memory to the Bangor Garden Club, Bangor Symphony Orchestra, Robinson Ballet, or the American Cancer Society.
