Clarence Raymond Dunton Jr., 84, passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2026 with his family by his side. He was born July 24, 1941, the fifth child of 11 to Clarence and Marion Dunton.

Clarence was a lifetime resident of Hampden. He attended Hampden Schools before he met the love of his life, Trudy Rose Dickinson. They married on February 28, 1963. Together, they built a life and raised three children. Junior was a very hard worker. After working all day, he often continued working at home on his many projects. He had his own sawmill and processed much of the wood he used to build his home and camp, as well as rebuilding after a fire.

Junior enjoyed local stock car racing, having owned one of his own; #71. He enjoyed snowmobiling, Nascar racing, 4-wheeling, and springtime fishing in Mopang. He loved travelling with friends and family, often to the North Maine Woods, camping, moose hunting, or just looking. Junior always got along with everyone and enjoyed telling a good story, he always had an opinion! Even during his recent illness caused by a stroke, he enjoyed spending time with friends and sharing stories.

Junior built many things during his life, including a diesel snowmobile and a snowmobile with a Saab engine. He was particularly proud of his 1923 replica of a Model T with plate number ALMYT-23, that he and his sons built.

In addition to his parents, Junior was predeceased by siblings, Lester Dunton, Louise Tapp, Clarice Bourgoine, Florence Gilmore, Sidney Dunton, Rodney Dunton; great-grandchild, Hadley Marie Seamans. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Trudy Dunton; children, James Raymond Dunton and wife, Wanda, William Randall Dunton and Christie, and Cameo Rose Dunton and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Samantha and husband, Tyler, Stephanie, Brittany and husband, Jared, Kristen, Nicole, Brandon, Colby, Roxanne, and husband Aaron, Melissa, Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Colin, Eva and Nora, Tanner and Parker, Levi and Gavin; siblings, Leland and wife, Sandy, Jackie Dunton, Robert and wife, Sandra, Winston and wife, Wendy, and Marilyn Fogg; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life well lived will be announced at a later date.
