Dale Alan Perkins

HARMONY - Dale A. Perkins, 73, beloved husband, father, grandfather and musician passed peacefully from this life into his eternal one on August 26th, 2026 after a long illness.

Dale was a graduate of Dexter High School, Class of 1971, Gordon College, Class of 1976, and Gorden Conwell Theological Seminary. His college degree in trumpet performance led to many concerts performed throughout the greater New England area with wife Debbie and later to the formation of the Stadtpfeiffer Brass Quintet. His long career in music involved ministries in music at Ruggles Street Baptist Church, Boston; Court Street Baptist and High Street Congregational Churches in Auburn, Maine; Old South Church in Hallowell, Maine; and Hope Baptist Church in Manchester, Maine. Dale was the director of the Androscoggin Chorale and the Coda Chorus. He was a band director at Oak Hill High School and Monmouth Academy for several years. For the past 42 years he has owned Perkins Music House and supplied music, advice, and unofficial mentorship to countless band and choral directors in Maine. He championed music in Maine schools and churches through the Opus One Big Band, which held many benefit concerts for those programs and continues that work under new leadership. His family, friends, and church family are grateful for his love, abiding faith, and sound wisdom.

Dale leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Deborah, of Harmony; 3 daughters; Kim Brewer, of Dexter, Bethany Perkins, of New Gloucester, and Stephany Perkins, of Harmony; one grandson, Milo Brewer, of Dexter; and beloved "grand-puppies" Rusty and Marty. He leaves behind a lasting legacy to his family and to music in the state of Maine.
