ORRINGTON - David M. "Daisy" Kobrin, 52, died peacefully at his home July 10, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born September 4, 1972, in Meriden, Connecticut, the son of Ronald P. and Barbara J. (Menze) Kobrin.
Daisy moved to Orrington from Meriden with his family in 1987. He attended Orrington Center Drive School and graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1991.
Daisy worked many trades through the years including roofing, carpentry and retired after seven years as Head of Maintenance at the Lucerne Inn, in September, 2023.
Daisy enjoyed spending time in his "mancave" after a long days' work, listening to tunes, having a Budweiser and smoking a bowl. He loved to watch the Boston Red Sox, his beloved Washington Redskins and Nascar.
As a devoted family man, Daisy enjoyed hanging out with his best friend, Scott Demchak, also of Orrington, with whom he shared countless laughs and good times over the years, having may conversations with his son, Trevor, ranging from life to sports, to which "flower" is the best. He also spent time teaching his nephew, Nichalas how to build things, how to use a chain saw, taking him to the shooting range, reminiscing about living on Brewer Lake. He loved spending time with his wife, Kelly, even if just working together around the house or hanging out. He would take his girls (dogs) for a walk every day out to the rock and back, right up to when he wasn't able to anymore. He sure loved his girls, Blaze, Brandi, Bleu and Bindi, along with Bella and Bayleigh, who greeted him on the other side, tails a waggin'.
In addition to his parents, Daisy was predeceased by his grandparents, Peter and Viola Kobrin and Frank and Hazel Menze; in-laws, Myron and Sandy McLaughlin and nephew, Joshua J. Stevens. Surviving, are his wife, Kelly J. (McLaughlin) Kobrin; son, Trevor (Alisha) Stitham; grandson, Atreyu, all of Orrington; brothers, Joseph (Daphene) Kobrin, of Orrington and Gary Kobrin, of Bangor; nephews, Nichalas (Morgan and Greyson) Kobrin, of Eddington, with whom he shared a special bond with; a special aunt, Karen Mastroianni, of Jacksonville, Florida and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
