FRANKFORT, MAINE - James Louis Ginn. 82, passed away March 18, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 1, 1944, in Hampden, Maine, the son of Clinton Sr. and Mary "Helen" (Tripp) Ginn.
James was a lifelong hard worker, learning the ropes at a young age while working alongside his father. He later cut wood for Jim Hatch before striking out on his own. After many years in the woods, a pinched nerve made the uneven terrain difficult to navigate, so he transitioned to operating heavy equipment. Over the years, James drove machinery for several local companies, including Peter Tripp, Mike Tripp, and Vaughan Thibedeau. Anyone who knew James knew he was at his happiest behind the wheel of a piece of equipment!
Though he officially retired in 2005 following a prostate cancer diagnosis, James never truly slowed down. Despite various health battles, he powered through and always kept busy. He continued taking on odd jobs operating machinery and even put up his own firewood every year, right up until his final year.
James is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda (White) Ginn; his daughter, Jamie Fraser and her husband, Doug; daughter, Sarah Ginn; "grandkids", Clint Fraser, Belle Yeo, Devyn Talgo, Jillian Wight, Aliyah Ginn, Shane Talgo and Troy Fraser; siblings, Bernard Ginn and his girlfriend, Peg Mace, Jane Rancourt and her husband, Charlie, Nancy Hammond and her husband, Jerry, Mary Jean Philbrick and Clinton "Hottie" Ginn Jr. and his wife, Ruth and lots special nieces and nephews and special friends, such as Joel Lane and Doug Mitchell.
In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth, Stanley "Dicky" and Andrew Ginn and sisters, Louise Bragg and her husband, Dale and Margeret Parsons and her husband, Bob.
James was well known and well loved. He had lots of friends and was always known to be hardworking, honest and kind. He will be greatly missed.
