James A. Moore, 90, of Milford, passed away on August 26, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on July 28, 1935, in Bangor, Maine, to the late Francis and Gertrude (Pelletier) Moore, Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family brought him great joy.
Jim was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Parish, now known as the Parish of the Resurrection, where he served as a lector, eucharistic minister, sacristan, religious ed instructor and was a past member of the parish council. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Druillette Council #2537 and 4th Degree Assembly #364.
In his early years, he worked at Moose River/Pine Tree Footwear. He went on to work at General Electric Bangor, retiring after 27 years of service. During the first 20 years of his retirement, he was employed at Brookings-Smith Funeral Home.
Jim and his wife, Amelia, would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on September 7th. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Ann and husband, John Goodwin, of Milford, Jennifer and partner, Larry Thibodeau, Michele (Mitch) and husband, Shawn Landry, all of Bradley. His seven grandchildren, Ashley and partner Anthony, Rachel, Caitlin and fiancé Zachary, Victoria and husband Lance, John Jr., Hope, and Cailie Rose. His ten great-grandchildren, Colton, Keegan, Hadley, Brooklynn, Sophia, Liam, Isaiah, Hunter, Charlie and Riley.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Coulombe, his father-in-law, Earl Whitmore, and mother-in-law, Rita Whitmore.
At Jim's request, there will be no services. Private burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Old Town, Maine.
