Joshua Tidwell

July 11, 1983 — June 20, 2025

Joshua Neil Tidwell, 41, passed away unexpectedly on June 20, 2025. He was born to Rhonda Betters and Tim Tidwell.

With heavy hearts and tearful eyes we knew Josh as a man whose passion for life reached higher than the tallest trees he's ever climbed.

To know Josh was to know unwavering devotion. He was the kind of husband who never stopped choosing his wife everyday - loving her with the quiet, steady kind of love that held their world together. He was a proud father and an even prouder Papa, never missing a moment to brag about his kids or make his grandbabies laugh. Every one of them knew what it felt like to be deeply, completely loved by him.

Josh made a life doing what he loved most - climbing trees, not just for a living, but for the feeling of freedom it gave him. He was an artist with a chainsaw and a master of balance, always respecting the trees he worked on and the ground he walked on.

When he wasn't in the trees, he was on the road. Josh loved his motorcycle - the wind in his face, the hum of the engine, the open road calling his name. That bike was his therapy, his peace, his joy.

He lived life boldly, but with tenderness. He offered advice without judgment, gave hugs that healed, and carried a laugh that could break through even the darkest days. His hands were rough, his heart was soft, and his soul was steady but would give his shirt off his back with zero hesitation.

Josh was predeceased by his mother, His Papa and Gram and two sweet children; Joseph and Annabelle Tidwell.

He is survived by his wife, Erika; and their children, Caeden, Emma, Skyler, and Sequin; His grandchildren, Scarlett and Lucas; His siblings, Jeremy and Ryan; his nieces and nephews; and his good friends, Shawn, Jordan L, Ty, and Jordan C.

Though his climb on this Earth has ended too soon, we know he's found a higher place - where the roads are endless and the trees reach the heavens.

Rest easy, Josh. You were one of the good ones. You still are.
