BANGOR - Kenneth Leroy Lindsay, Jr., 79, passed away on April 30, 2026, at the Maine Veterans' Home in Bangor after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born on January 12, 1947, in Lincoln, Maine, the son of Kenneth Leroy Lindsay, Sr. and Beverly (O'Brien) Lindsay.
Ken, affectionately known as Butch, was a proud graduate of Bangor High School's Class of 1966, where he participated in the ROTC program. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Ken went on to build a long career in sales. On October 19, 1974, he married his beloved wife, Marie Gogan, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion.
Ken was a loving husband and dedicated father who took great joy in being involved in his children's extracurricular activities when they were young. A hardworking man, he enjoyed reading, tinkering around the house, helping others, gardening, and taking scenic drives with his family. Above all, Ken was a fighter who faced Parkinson's disease with remarkable strength, resilience, and determination for as long as he could.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Marie (Gogan) Lindsay, are his son, Joseph and his wife, Megan, of Saco, Maine; daughter, Jessica Williams, and her husband, Aaron, of Glen Burnie, Maryland; one grandchild, Donovan Williams; two brothers, Dale Lindsay and his wife, Pam, and Douglas Lindsay; one sister, Kathleen Lindsay; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by his two brothers, Ivan and Terrance, and sister, Margaret.
