LaVone J Walters, 95, passed away on February 7, 2025 at a Bangor hospital. She was born December 3, 1929 in Coldwater Township, Butler County, city Greene, IA., a daughter of Herman and Elizabeth B. (Pagles) Rover.
She graduated from high school at a country school in Coldwater. She drove truck for many years with her husband. She was a member of the Extension group, quilting club, did a lot of sewing for hospice and battered Women's project, a member of New Hope Global Methodist Church. She had a passion for sewing and loved her dog, Kitty.
Surviving family members are Melinda Turner and her husband, Ronald, of Chapman, ME.; granddaughter, Kimberly Gilson of Chapman; grandson, Christopher Turner and his wife, Narmin, of Windham, NH.; four great grandchildren, Dylan Gilson of Kennebunk, ME., Briana Gilson and her partner, Dan Coulombe, of Fairfield, ME., Zain and Ayaana Turner of Windham, NH.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents;her son, James Walters of Chapman, ME; husband, Robert; brother, Dale Rover of Presque Isle; three sisters, Alta Harrah of Delta, CO., Delores Osborne of Sumter, SC., and Irene Stanbrough of Greene, IA.
A memorial talk will be given March 1, 2025 at 11:00 at New Hope Global Methodist Church. Graveside service will be held in the spring.
