MARIAVILLE, MAINE - Lawrence M. Cooper, 76, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family. He faced cancer with the same unwavering resolve and quiet strength that defined his entire life. He was born on November 7, 1949 in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of Leo C. and Dororthy H. (Horne) Cooper.


Lawrence graduated from Mansfield High School, Class of 1969 then attended Johnson & Wales graduating with an Associate's Degree in Accounting. He worked for many years for the Foxborough Highway Department rising to the position of department head then held various positions within the construction industry until he retired in 2007. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing, firearms, working on his motorcycle and spending time with his best friend, Mike Stephan.


Lawrence is reunited with his beloved wife, Annette, who preceded him in death 21 years ago. He is survived by his loving family who will forever carry his legacy of strength and commitment: his daughter, Lori Guaetta and husband, Anthony, of Providence, Rhode Island; step-son, Craig Domko, MSgt, USAF (Retired) and wife, Carla, of Panama City, Florida; son, Eric Cooper, who proudly serves in the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and wife, Alicia, of Chesapeake, Virginia; daughter, Aleesha Cooper, of Ellsworth, Maine; his beloved grandchildren, Brett, Stephen, Julian, and Jackson, as well as his great-grandchild, Stephen III and his siblings, John Cooper and Joan Ives.


The family will be holding a private graveside service in Brimmer Cemetery, Mariaville, Maine. Family and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at a celebration of life between the hours of 2pm and 6pm on Tuesday December 9, 2025, at 221 Frost Mill Rd, Mariaville, ME 04605.
