LAGRANGE, MAINE - Rex Allen Grant, 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep at a Bangor hospital on June 2,2026. He was born on June 11, 1965, in Bangor, Maine, the son of Harland and Lee Dora (Thayer) Grant.

Rex was a devoted husband to his wife, Ella Grant, and a loving father to his two daughters, Kimmy and Kerri. He was a proud grandfather to Talika, Baeli, Remmington, and Toretto, and was blessed with one great-granddaughter, Phoebe.

Rex was the youngest of six children with the remaining siblings being Rose, Jimmy And Wayne.

Rex came from a large family and was one of 97 grandchildren. Family was always at the center of his life, and he cherished the many relationships he shared with relatives near and far.

Rex was loved by countless family members and friends and was known for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and ability to make others laugh. Often considered the joker of the family, he had a gift for bringing smiles to those around him.

Rex also had a special love for his dogs, whom he considered his best friends and loyal companions. Throughout his life, he always made sure to keep that tradition alive. He leaves behind his beloved dogs, Muddy, Sage, and Lilly, who brought him comfort, companionship, and joy.

A passionate racing enthusiast, Rex competed in race cars from 1996 to 2009. During his racing career, he earned numerous victories and was featured in the Bangor Daily News for winning multiple consecutive weeks at Speedway 95. Racing was more than a hobby-it was one of his greatest passions and a source of many cherished memories.

Above all, Rex was a loving, caring, and outspoken man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, generosity, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those who knew and loved him.
