CHARLESTON

 Robert P. Rockwell, Sr., 87, died July 2, 2026, peacefully at his home after a long illness. He was born March 23, 1939, in Corinth, the son of Otis and Ada Rockwell.

 Bobby graduated from East Corinth Academy, Class of 1957. Following his graduation, from 1957 to 1978 he had careers at Prat & Whitney, General Electric, and ran a sawmill in Corinth with his brother, Floyd. In 1980, he and his wife established C&R Lumber Mill. In 1993, their son, Rob joined the business and together they expanded the mill to include 6 laborers and 3 office staff, until its closure and his full retirement in 2010. In his retirement, Bobby enjoyed woodworking, sawing logs on his antique handset mill, working on his bulldozers, and spending time with his wife and grandchildren.

 Surviving in addition to his wife of 52 years, Carolyn (Boyer) Rockwell, are his two sons, Lawrance Rockwell, of Garland and Robert Rockwell, Jr. and his wife Kelly, of Sebec; daughters, Sindy Fitzgibbon and husband, Michael, of Bath and Melissa Lemieux and husband, Kevin, of Exeter; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Kneeland, of Charleston and Elaine Obar, of Corinth. In addition to his parents, Bobby was predeceased by five brothers, Walter, Norm, Lawrence, Kenny, and Floyd; two sisters, Dorothy and Lois; a son, Randy; and daughter, Candace Mudgett.

 A committal service will be held at Corinthian Cemetery in Corinth at a date to be determined.
