Scott Graham Malloy, 64, of Pittsfield, ME, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on September 30th, 2026 with his wife of 31 years to the day, Virginia P. Malloy, by his side.
Born in Newburyport, MA, on May 1, 1962, Scott was the son of the late Dr. Malcolm G. Malloy and Natalie C. Malloy. The Malloy's later moved to Greentree Lane in Byfield where he led the neighborhood kids in football, baseball, street hockey and kick the can. Scott graduated in 1980 from Triton High School where he was a well-rounded student and excelled in soccer. He was also voted "Most Attractive" which he never failed to remind us about.
Scott graduated from North Adams State College in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He began a long and successful career in the leather tanning industry - which brought him to Camden, Maine. Scott was well-known in the community due to his gregarious nature and sense of humor. His local team, the "Nads" made epic world history as the first ever Snowbowl Toboggan Race champions in 1991. In Camden, Scott met the love of his life, Ginny Shields, and her daughter Ashley. In 1995 they became a family and welcomed their son, Brody, in 1996.
The Malloy's moved to Pittsfield, ME, in 1999 where Scott was the Plant Manager of the Finish Division for Irving Tanning. He quickly became Dustin Pedroia of the tannery- Mr. Energy and Positivity. Over the years, the Malloy's became part of the Pittsfield community. Scott made many friends here and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren grow up in this quiet town. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, whether watching them participate in sports at Manson Park, or playing with them at home.
Scott spent summers at the old family cottage on Bustins Island, ME, where he grew up participating in all the island activities. He loved to dare his siblings to jump off the Steamer Dock at low tide, even though there was an old rusty bed at the bottom. Anyone who knew Scott would know it's true!
Scott was a lifelong golf, Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots fan. Carlton Fisk, Bobby Orr, Tiger Woods, and more recently, Patrice Bergeron, and all fullbacks in the NFL were held close to his heart. He tended to root for the underdog -especially in golf. MANY hours were spent watching his favorite teams!
Scott "Scooter" was a friend to all. He possessed a quick wit and an incredible sense of humor. He was always the life of the party and enjoyed the company of those around him. Scott was the real deal, truly honest, and sincere. He adored his two sisters, Jennifer M. Sheats of Amesbury, MA, and Rebecca M. Piecewicz of Merrimac, MA. His cousin, Matt Ledin of Brunswick, ME, was like a brother to him, as was T.R. Shields, of Rockport, ME. Michael Takesian was his best friend since day one at the Yellow School in Byfield. But his pride and joy, his true love, was his family; Ginny, Ashley, Brody, and grandchildren, Abel and Poppy. Scott also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Barry Piecewiz; as well as niece, Cameron Piecewicz; and nephew, Charles Piecewicz of Merrimac; in-laws, Roger and Wendy Wickenden, of Camden, ME; as well as many cousins, family members, and friends who adored him. And let's not forget, Scott was voted "Most Attractive" for the Triton Class of 1980.
Scott Malloy will be unbelievably missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, and anyone who knew him...
There will be a Celebration of Life for Scott on October 24th at The Broken Putter, Pittsfield, ME from 12:00-3:30. Please join us-stories are welcome!
