Spiridon "Steve" Kennos was born in Greece on January 4, 1953, and passed away peacefully at home in Newport, Maine, on December 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with grade 4 glioblastoma brain cancer.
Steve was a hardworking, kind hearted man that enjoyed his family, pets, and home. He and Gloria enjoyed their time together. Steve was very proud of keeping a great looking lawn, his gardens, his chickens, and walking his dog, Zoe.
Gloria and Steve enjoyed their 40 years together. They worked hard for many of the early years and then, later, enjoyed their retirement. In his younger years he owned Town Pizza in Wrentham, Massachusetts, and prior to retirement in Maine, he worked for Circle K in Newport.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria; his son, Charlie Snow and his wife, Gitana; daughter, Colleen Snow; his siblings and their spouses, Sam and Virginia Costarellos, Billy and Penny Kennos, Tassos and Vicky Kennos, George and Karen Papastathopoulos; brother-in-law, Vito Wasilunas and Carol; as well as his beloved nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his mother, Eleni Gavoyianis Kennos; in-laws, Vito & Birute Wasilunas; brother-in-law, Johnny Wasilunas
He made many friends anywhere he went and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him
The family would like to thank all those that helped with his care from Northern Lights Hospice, Lafayette Cancer Center, Maine General in Portland, Dr Ekong, Dr Dunn, also all of the caring doctors,nurses, and support teams that were helping him battle the cancer and other medical issues. We would also like to thank all of his family for their visits, support, and phone calls. It meant so much, truly.
His 40 day Mass will be at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Brockton Massachusetts, on January 18, 2026. Interment in Newport, Maine, will be announced in the spring of 2026.
